Classroom Amateur License Class Training Explained...
Introduction: Normally classroom training is provided for the Technician, General, and Extra Class levels. The goal is to offer classroom training for the Technician level several times early in the year such as January, February, March, and April. These classes are followed by a General level class or two before the end of September. An Extra class when possible is offered in November and December. The Technician classes cover two 4-5 hour days (normally Saturdays) with testing being offered following class on the 2nd Saturday. The General Class takes the same amount of time to cover and test...normally over two Saturdays. The Extra Class requires three Saturdays of 6 hours, with testing offered on the last day.
We use Gordon West books for classes. They can be purchased from www.w5yi.org or through www.amazon.com for any of the three classes of license.
Please let us know if you are interested in attending one of these classes. When we have enough to do a class we start planning for when a class can be held. We strive for ten or more for a Technician class and seven or more for a General or Extra Level Class. Not knowing you are interested in attending a class may delay the next class offering. You can use the Contact Us link to send us your information or call or text N0OCP at 417-844-1418 or email N0OCP@arrl.net
